Posed Newborn Photo Session Considerations
A few considerations for our posed newborn studio session:
Please avoid baby powder or paste on session day.
Clothe baby in a zip-up sleeper without socks, avoid anything that goes over the head.
If possible, feed baby just prior to departure time.
It will be HOT to ensure your newborn will relax and snooze. We also require a fairly quiet space, older sibling(s) should arrive at the last half hour of the session.
Kickback and relax. It’s very important to keep space between mom’s milk scent and baby’s nose. The smell of food may trigger baby's appetite and may wake them. Especially if you’re breastfeeding, please resist the urge to step in. If I need ANYTHING I won’t be afraid to ask.
There may be moments when baby will cry. I prefer to minimize this time as it disturbs your newborn's sleep. You’re welcome to toss the pacifier in the trash on the way out if you prefer not to use it at home.
I am an advocate of breast feeding and I want you to feel 100% comfortable during your session. Feel free to bring a nursing cover if inclined. If you're able to pump to enable bottle feeding to keep baby posed while feeding, feel free to bring a bottle with you.
Our studio space is rather limited and covered in props! :) If grandparents are in town visiting, I'd love to include them in the session for an additional fee. If grandparents are not being photographed, I ask that only parents accompany baby for our session.
Looking forward to meeting you and your beautiful family soon!
Upon arrival, you may park directly in front of our home 5371 W. 73rd Avenue, 80003. Navigation typically stops a bit short, we’re close to the corner of Sheridan and 73rd, keep traveling west when the navigation ends until you see the first grouping of new builds on the north side of 73rd.
